Why I love Family Photography

Looking back at old photos is one of the easiest ways to bring back memories. Faces change. Children grow. A family is an ever-changing group of people. Family photos offer a glimpse back in time.

I switched from working full-time Monday – Friday to staying at home with my 1-year-old daughter during the week and working weekends. I needed something new to learn and photography was a perfect skill to add to my life. My phone’s camera roll was exploding with images and they weren’t amazing photos. I wanted to learn how to take better pictures of my family. So I started taking education classes on how to be a professional photographer. I had something challenging to learn to take up the hours of nap times, learned a skill that was beneficial to me as a parent with a little kid, and branched into a business. Photography sessions aren’t always easy – natural light is always changing as the sun moves and small children don’t always cooperate. But those online courses, from a wedding photography team, enable me to start a small business for my love of family photography. Years later, I still enjoy and share this skill with other families.
